Here we are, the last Tuesday night at the tail end of September. Usually at this time of year, we get weather that is chilly and windy, if not actually rainy. But for this Tuesday, the Weather Service is predicting mostly sunny and low 70's, which should make for a good wrap-up the 2011 season. Be sure to come early, though; it may feel more like July or August, but the sun sets around 6:30 these days.

Three climbers showed up to Den Rock, one of whom got extra gung-ho points for driving all the way to Den Rock in the rain. We did get sprinkled on, but it was only for about ten minutes and never very heavy. We only had one rope, but moved it twice, to cover a total of 6 or 7 climbs, though we only actually attempted 5 of them. The mosquitoes were fairly obnoxious; my legs are still itchy. Afterwards, we retreated to the Bollywood Grill across the street for food and drink. -- rgr, 31-Jul-11.]

The blog is still down, alas. The weather forecast for Andover says 40% chance of rain in the afternoon (but it's only 30% further south).

25-Jul 22:13

First update: We already have two takers, with a possible third, but we're all watching the weather. Stay tuned.

26-Jul 09:15

The score is now two confirmed climbers, with rumours of two more. As of 7:15, POP is down to 30% in Andover.

26-Jul 10:12

One of the rumoured climbers confirmed.

26-Jul 13:37

Oops; the latest forecast (as of 1:15 PM) now says 60% chance of rain. But it's sunny here in Woburn. I don't know what to make of that.
