This Tuesday we head back to Gloucester for Stage Fort Park. (I was wrong last week when I suggested that we were done with the more distant locations for the rest of the season.) The weather doesn't sound so promising, though: They are predicting a 40% chance of showers for the afternoon. We do need the rain, but keep your fingers crossed that it holds off long enough; we also need the climbing!

They are still saying 40% chance of showers for Gloucester, but I'm an optimist, so I will be there.
Well, I was there, and it was a beautiful evening. I set up two ropes covering four climbs, feeling kinda foolish since I was the only one there, not counting the many spectators who watched me play with my gear. When I finished setting up and went down to put my shoes on, two of the spectators asked if I was going to toprope. They turned out to be brothers, both at least occasional climbers, but only one of whom had his harness and shoes in his truck. But that was enough to save the night; there was still enough daylight for each of the two of us to attempt every route. Other than not having more climbs to try (for which I would have had to show up earlier), it was a perfect evening: Minimal bugs, cool sea breeze, and scarcely a cloud in the sky. And Woodman's to cap it all.
